ABOUT THE ABSTRACT PAINTING SERIES, HEART TO HEART

This series of mixed media/acrylic paintings began with an exhibition at the Samuel Lynn Gallery in Dallas, Texas in February 2009. All gallery artists were asked to submit original paintings to the group exhibition of "hearts". The heart image is one that I had great success with about 10 years ago. I was enthusiastic to revisit the heart image, as it is one of my favorites. I was curious to see the results of using my current painting techniques, which includes a lot of texture and minimal color.

These new original oil and mixed-media paintings were received with great appreciation. Currently they are in production to make limited edition serigraph reproductions as well. There is exciting potential with the resale of the prints and donating a portion of the proceeds to the American Heart Association. Negotiations are ongoing and hopefully will be finalized soon.
